Federal Government's Cloud Plans: A $20 Billion Shift

I recently came across this article on CIO.com that talks about how the Federal Government is shifting $20 Billion of IT budget to Cloud Services. This article dicusses how much money the government plans on saving the taxpayer, and how the Federal IT department sees the cloud as a benefit to security rather then a deterrent.
Take a look at the Federal Government's Cloud Computing strategy presentation as well as the full report. If you are planning a cloud strategy for your company, it is a worth while read. I am very impressed with Vivek Kundra, the U.S. CIO. His approach to the "Next Practice" of delivering quality IT services to the end user community is fresh and technically sound. Anything that federal employees can do to save the taxpayer money is fine with me.
Enjoy the read, until next time cheers!
