I just got off the Microsoft Office 365 announcement, and up off the floor. This announcement blew me away!!! This really levels the playing field for the small and medium business to compete with the big boys. No longer will large companies have a leg up over small businesses when it comes to communication and collaboration with teammates or clients. As a matter of fact, the small business might even have an advantage because they don't have the on premise legacy systems and personnel issues to deal with. Let's take a quick overvew of what was announced today.

New cloud service brings together Office, SharePoint, Exchange and Lync for organizations of all sizes.
Small Business (1-25 users)
Includes:
- Email & Calendaring
- Public Facing Website
- Team sites for both internal teams and external clients and partners
- Web and Video conferencing
- Microsoft Office Web Apps
Plus more...
The Enterprise client will have a choice of what they can choose to purchase. "The Right offer for the Right user"
Price: Depending on what online services you subscribe to will cost between $2-$27 per user.
Enterprise includes:
- Single Platform for all users
- Single Sign On for all apps
- Office pro plus (Full Desktop Rich Client Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, publisher etc...)
- Office Web apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- Social Networking and Team Sites (SharePoint)
- Email archiving (Hosted Archive Unlimited 10 year storage)
- Voicemail in your inbox (Exchange)
- Video and Voice Conferencing (Lync)
- Email and Calendaring (Exchange)
Microsoft said that Office 365 will be available next year. There are approximately 3,000 clients who will be using it in Beta until then.
This is very exciting, and is going to change how IT services will be delivered from this point forward.
GREAT JOB Microsoft!!!
